Various government incentives including the introduction of a Conference Ambassador Programme, are available to help you bring an international event to Dublin. We are here to assist and advise, ensuring that you get the most of your time at The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD), and in Dublin.
Our specialist Account Managers have expert knowledge of the association market and are well-acquainted with the competitive bidding process that can be required to attract prestigious events to the city. Working on your behalf, we offer the following complimentary services.
If you are interested in learning more about hosting an international conference in Dublin, you might like to attend one of our short breakfast seminars. The seminars feature presentations on financial and operational support for conference hosts from representatives of Dublin Convention Bureau (DCB) and the Association of Irish Professional Conference Organisers (AIPCO). You can also hear from a panel of local conference ambassadors who share their individual experiences and thoughts on hosting international meetings.
Please contact us if you are interested in attending the next Breakfast Seminar which takes place on the 09 October 2019.
Everyone who attends one of our breakfast seminars is eligible for our ambassador's bursary initiative. This offers full payment of registration fees for one of our local ambassadors to attend their international association conference. We will select one ambassador to receive this funding after our final breakfast seminar of the year. This is our way of supporting you in your association membership and promoting the benefits of attending and networking at your international conference.
We can also advise you on additional organisations that may be able to support your bid, including the following.
Dublin Convention Bureau (DCB) provides financial and practical aid for international conferences and associations bidding to choose Dublin as a host destination.
DCB can assist with the initial bid document and provide support towards the travel and accommodation costs associated with the bid. It will also financially support and co-ordinate site visits for your decision makers, and give you impartial advice and information on venues, accommodation and entertainment options.
DCB also provides a financial contribution towards the marketing and promotion of your conference in order to maximise delegate attendance and ensure its success, and offers complimentary maps and tourist information guides for your delegates.
DCB can also guide you through Fáilte Ireland’s Conference Ambassador Programme, which identifies and supports Irish representatives from professional associations and encourages them to invite their conferences to Ireland.
Science Foundation Ireland's (SFI) Conferences and Workshops Programme facilitates international and national conferences and workshops taking place in Ireland that encourage dissemination and collaboration on research topics of timely importance covered by its legal remit.
There are three award types: Workshops, Conferences, and Exceptional Conferences. Each award type has a different amount of maximum funding that can be applied for. Applications may be submitted at any time during the year, but must be submitted at least four months in advance of the event in the case of a Workshop or Conference, or at least six months in advance of the event in the case of an Exceptional Conference. For further information please see the SFI's Conferences and Workshops Programme FAQ pdf, visit www.sfi.ie or contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
