Purpose of event: To connect market participants with executives from airlines, leasing companies, financial institutions and investment houses to facilitate deals and build business relationships.
Key requirement: Additional meeting space to facilitate meetings.
Key focus 2018: Best use of spaces at The CCD.
Having hosted Global Airfinance Conference since 2015, The CCD remained the host for the January 2018 event. Airfinance, an aircraft leasing company, specialises in commercial and business aircrafts. This year, delegates came together to build relationships, discuss potential aircraft leasing opportunities and facilitate deals.
During pre-event planning, the client and our specialised CCD Events team met to discuss requirements for the event. Airfinance emphasised the need for further meeting room space. The client and The CCD team worked together, redesigning the space completely.
The space featured airport lounge style furniture, enabling delegates to have open discussions. It featured a sponsored coffee bar and even a flight simulator. A plenary session took place in the Forum, which had built-in cabaret style seats and incorporated both a stage and projector move. Exhibition space was set up in the Forum and private meeting spaces in the Liffey Hall and Foyers.
The client brought 40 artificial meeting pods to the venue, with the installation overseen by CCD Technical. Located in the Liffey Hall and Level 3 and 4 Foyers, the pods were used as a one-to-one meeting service to connect Airlines and Lessors with Investors and Financiers. Branding was visible on all pillars, pods, escalators, and our in-house signage screens displaying the client’s logo. Video footage was displayed on the widescreen in the Forum.
CCD Hospitality was kept busy with flowing tea and coffee in all rooms and in every pod. Delegates had a wide variety of options to choose from when dining. A bistro lunch was served in Wicklow Hall 1 and a lighter option of sushi and salads were served in Wicklow Hall 2. Each room was kitted out by CCD Furniture, with furniture matching the style of the food being served. Multicoloured furniture was placed in Wicklow Hall 1 and high benches and table tops in Wicklow Hall 2 created an environment just like a sushi bar.
The 2018 show was a huge success. Attendees from over 75 countries had access to over 60 private meeting rooms and endless opportunities to facilitate business. The CCD is delighted to be able to accommodate such vast structural and layout changes and to constantly reinvent itself to suit clients’ needs to keep the event fresh each year and to help to support its clients in delivering world-class events.
The International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders is one of the largest events held at The CCD to date, attracting guests from over 80 countries around the world and providing outstanding feedback.
The Airfinance Conference is the premium event for the aviation finance industry and it has made The CCD its home, holding its 2015 and 2016 conferences at the iconic venue with plans to return in 2017.
