Planning and hosting an event with The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) has never been easier! Whether your event is in three months’ time, or six years in the making, you’re hosting international or local delegates, or you require a complex mix of meeting spaces, tradeshow floors and presentation rooms, our team is here to guide you through the process of planning and executing successful and memorable events. Here’s how it happens.
The vision
The first step to planning your event with The CCD is meeting with someone from our Sales team to share your vision with us. We’ll need to know a few details such as the number of delegates you’ll be hosting and whether the event is a conference, a banquet, tradeshow or a special event. Once we have an idea of what you’re looking for, we will invite you to do a walk-through of how your event will look in our venue, using our state-of-the-art virtual reality and 3D modelling program.
This interactive program produces accurate renders and videos of what your event can look like on the day. This technology features a real time view of the event set up which includes stage lighting, seating, sets and branding inside the venue, all with the touch of a button, allowing our clients to plan and view each room down to the finest detail. The beauty of this technology is that it can be tweaked and changed on the spot so that you can design the best event venue to suit your preference.
We have a variety of package options to cater for the size, duration, accessibility, dietary requirements and set-up of up of your event, all of which can be tailored to suit your event’s style and objectives. This is not a one-size-fits-all venue.
Meet your team
Once we have shown you how we can execute your vision, it’s time for you to meet The CCD team that will work with you from planning your event, right through to the dates before and during your event. Each event hosted at The CCD gets to work with a dedicated Technical Production Manager, Hospitality Manager and Event Manager who are experts in their respective fields.
These specialists will be your touchpoints throughout your experience with us and will run you through how each of their departments will work with you to deliver your unique event. Not only are they available to make sure your event runs without a hitch, but they can also offer their world class expertise that can only be gained from their experience in working within an award winning, world-favorite venue.
The build
In preparation for your event, our team ensures that all booked venue space is delegate ready on the day. This includes making sure that furniture and necessary structures are in the correct locations, each room is equipped from an accessibility standpoint and all rooms and structures are assessed from a health and safety standpoint. Depending on the size and requirements, the event build can take anything from one to a few days.
Considering the complexity of an event and for your peace of mind, we have an option to do a ‘’pre-con’’ or run-through of the event beforehand to make sure that lighting, production, setup and any other moving parts run seamlessly.
Your event
After all your effort and planning, the time has come for you to take a step back and enjoy the result of your hard work. Our Events team is on hand to ensure that your event runs smoothly, and if you have any last-minute requests, they will be there to assist you with this. Throughout the event, The CCD team will be on the floor to help with everything from delegate enquiries, serving meals and teas to managing light or presentations.
