DublinApril 11, 2011 – The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) announced today that it will host the 35th European Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Conference in 2012. This four-day conference, which runs from 6th to 9th of June 2012, provides a forum for all with a common interest in CF to meet and discuss their latest findings.

“We selected The CCD to host our event as it provides us with all of the services we need, and it is based in Dublin, which is very accessible and a popular destination for our delegates,” said Christine Dubois, ECFS Executive Director. “After 20 years, the conference is returning to Ireland and we appreciate the opportunity to showcase the work being conducted in the multiple disciplines throughout the Scientific and Clinical CF Communities in a country where CF is so prevalent.”

Set to attract approximately 2,000 delegates, with approximately 80% from Europe and 20% from countries in the rest of the world, the conference represents a wide range of CF professional disciplines. The conference scientific programme is developed by a Scientific Committee and focuses on topics covering the entire spectrum of CF related issues. The programme includes presentations within plenary sessions, symposia, workshops, special interest groups, and round-table discussions.

“It is an honour to host such an important medical conference at The CCD,” said Catherine Newhall-Caiger, Sales Director, The Convention Centre Dublin. “As Cystic Fibrosis is Ireland's most common life-threatening inherited disease, this event will help to keep the spotlight on this debilitating condition that requires ongoing research funding and support worldwide.”

K.I.T. Group, a professional conference organiser, has been appointed to manage the entire logistics for this event. Founded in 1986, K.I.T. Group has developed into a leading organizer of national and international conferences. Their wealth of experience, highly qualified multilingual staff from more than 12 countries, competent use of innovative communication and data technologies with a network of experts all combine to make K.I.T.
