The CCD Wins ‘Best Overseas Conference Venue’ at the UK C&IT Excellence Awards

DUBLIN – 28 September 2015 – The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) has won the award for ‘Best Overseas Conference Venue’ at the UK Conference & Incentive Travel (C&IT) Excellence Awards. This is the second time that The CCD has received this highly-acclaimed award.

The annual awards ceremony, which took place on Friday at The Hilton Park Lane, London, recognises best practice in the creation, planning, production and management of events within the B2B sector. A wide variety of projects were acknowledged on the night ranging from successful events to in-house teams, specialist suppliers and venues.

This year The CCD was up against the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC), RAI Amsterdam and the Netherlands’ World Forum for the award. Nick Waight, CEO of The CCD comments “We are always delighted to receive recognition by peers in our industry and are honoured to receive this award. To be crowned with this title for the second time is testament to our ongoing commitment to exceptional service and continued investment in our facilities.”

The CCD wasn’t the only Irish winner at the awards. International PCO Conference Partners took home the ‘International Conference of the Year’ award for One Young World 2014. The Summit, which was hosted at The CCD last year, brought 1,300 young leaders from 196 countries to Ireland to debate and formulate innovative solutions to world issues.

This award brings the total number of industry awards The CCD has received since opening five years ago to 28.
