Sir Alex Ferguson to visit The CCD to launch Autobiography
DUBLIN – 05 August 2013 – The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) are delighted to announce that bookstore and newsagent chain Eason and Son Ltd are to host the Irish leg of the Sir Alex Ferguson’s new book tour at The CCD.
Widely considered as the greatest manager in the history of football, Sir Alex Ferguson will visit The CCD on 8 November as part of a whistle-stop tour to promote the launch of his official memoirs.
His visit to The CCD will mark the close of a wider tour that will see him face questions at public interviews in Manchester, Glasgow, London and Aberdeen.
At the Dublin event, visitors will get a rare opportunity to hear Sir Alex discuss the highlights of his extraordinary career first-hand in The CCD’s 2,000 seat Auditorium. Sky News Sunrise presenter Eamonn Holmes, who is a devout Manchester United fan, was personally selected by Sir Alex to host the interview.
The highly anticipated book, titled My Autobiography, will be published on 24 October, and is Sir Alex’s own account of his life story reflecting on his 27 year reign as Manchester United’s Manager.
The book’s publisher, Hodder & Stoughton, comments that Sir Alex has been working on the book in secret for some time, “Over the past four years, Sir Alex has been reflecting on and jotting down the highlights of his extraordinary career, and in his new book he will reveal his amazing story as it unfolded.”
Tickets for The CCD event are priced at €40 and will be on sale from 10am on 17 September from Easons.
