ISPOR 16th Annual European Congress to be held at The Convention Centre Dublin
Dublin – 8 October, 2012 – The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) announced today that it will host the 16th Annual European Congress of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research on 2nd-6th November 2013.
Over 3,300 attendees from over 70 countries are expected to attend over the five days, to focus on the science of pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research, with the goal of increasing the efficiency, effectiveness, and fairness of health care and ultimately to improve health.
Dr Marilyn Dix Smith, Executive Director at ISPOR commented: “ISPOR held our 10th European Congress in Dublin in 2007 and experienced a nearly 30% growth in attendance. Dublin was a popular and attractive destination for our attendees! The CCD enables us to return to Dublin in space large enough to accommodate the growth in our programme and in our attendance. The 2013 Congress will bring people together, in the beautiful setting of Dublin, to debate the difficult but essential question of how we best use health care resources.”
All countries have to make difficult decisions on how to best use limited health care resources. This Congress provides an opportunity for attendees from the research community, health care professionals, practitioners, decision-makers, manufacturers, payers, policy makers and educators, to learn and exchange expert knowledge to improve health care decision making. The Congress will feature educational courses, plenary sessions, issue panels, workshops, research poster and podium sessions, symposia and exhibits.
Marie Lawlor, Head of Conference Sales at The CCD said: “We are delighted to be hosting ISPOR in 2013 for its’ second visit to Ireland in eight years. It shows that Dublin is an extremely popular destination with delegates and societies.
