Four in a Row for The Convention Centre Dublin at the M&IT Awards 2015!

M&IT Gold Award 2015

DUBLIN – 4 March 2015 – The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) won the Gold Award for ‘Best Overseas Conference Centre’ for the fourth successive year at the Meetings & Incentive Travel (M&IT) Awards 2015, last night. The glittering gala banquet at Battersea Evolution, London was attended by over 1,100 UK and international industry professionals.

"We are deeply honoured at this fantastic achievement for the fourth year running,” said Nick Waight, CEO, The CCD. “The ‘Best Overseas Conference Centre’ award is based on independently audited votes from UK event organisers and I sincerely thank all who voted for us. I would also like to thank our wonderful team at The CCD, whose relentless passion for exceptional service has delivered this amazing result.”

This year, The CCD was shortlisted against eight major international convention centres - Amsterdam RAI, Grimaldi Forum Monaco, CCIB (Centre Convencions Internacional Barcelona), Cape Town International Convention Centre, Dubai World Trade Centre, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, McCormack Place Chicago and Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Since opening in September 2010, The CCD has now won 27 Industry Awards and hosted over 1,000 events, with over 1,000,000 delegates days.  The venue secured 120 events in the last six months of 2014, including 25 international conferences, booked for future years, from 2015 to 2018 and 43 repeat clients, returning to host annual events at The CCD.

Confirmed events up until 2018 include, Dscoop EMEA Conference 2015, the 68th ESOMAR Congress 2015, the Dublin International Game Music Festival 2015, the 17th European Congress of Endocrinology 2015, the Congress of the World Association for Buiatrics 2016, the 32nd International Conference on Pharmacoepidemiology 2016, the International Conference on Information Systems 2016, Eurospine 2017, the 56th Annual ACI World Congress 2017, the 37th International Symposium on Combustion 2018, the International Congress of Occupational Health 2018 and the World Congress of Biomechanics 2018.
