EuroNanoForum 2013, Europe’s largest Nanotechnology Conference, to take place at The CCD
DUBLIN – 26 March 2013 - Europe’s largest Nanotechnology and Materials conference, EuroNanoForum 2013 (ENF2013),will take place from 18-20 June at The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD). The 6th biannual conference will gather experts and decision makers of the nanotechnology community to The CCD to discuss the impact of nanotechnology in improving people’s lives.
Eurotechnology and nano-materials affect our everyday lives in countless ways, from everyday applications such as sunscreen protection, to increasing energy efficiency in processes and products, to lifesaving antibacterial agents and ground-breaking nanoparticle screening which detects changes in a person’s immune system that reflect the presence of cancer and infection.
The theme for ENF2013 is ‘Nanotechnology Innovation: Excellent Science, Competitive Industries, Better Society’, and will largely focus on key societal sectors such as health, energy and the environment. It will also introduce the industry to new innovations for growth opportunities, looking at the commercialisation of nanotechnologies, and exploiting its potential for new applications. In addition, with Horizon2020 beginning in 2014, the conference will also show how nanotechnologies fit into the new structure within Europe’s key priority areas by providing ways to increase competitiveness, create jobs and a better society.
“We are delighted to welcome this cutting-edge event to The CCD” comments Nick Waight, CEO of The CCD, “it is exciting that our venue will form the backdrop of ground-breaking discussions on developments in nanotechnology that could change the world”.
The event promises three days filled with opportunities. Delegates will be able to learn about innovative prototypes and products, find funding opportunities, network and meet high profile speakers from industry, government and research such as Shell, Nokia Research Laboratories, Intel, Philips Healthcare and the Max-Planck Institute.
“The conference showcases innovation as a driver of economic growth. New technologies arising from nano-science and their applications are presented and potential new end products are discussed”, describes Herbert von Bose, Director, European Commission, DG Research and Innovation, Industrial Technologies.
The EuroNanoForum is a must for companies looking to exploit or learn how to exploit the latest nanotechnology developments, as well as an opportunity for researchers to discuss their visions for European industries and research in the future.
The event will be taking place in conjunction with the Nanotech Europeexhibition and Nanoweek Ireland, and is expected to draw 1,200 delegates from over 50 countries.
