DUBLIN - April 4, 2012 - The CCD launched its 'My Events' app for iPhones and iPads. It was developed in conjunction with The ICC, Birmingham, by Dublin-based technology innovators, Fountainhead. Designed with delegates and organisers in mind, it provides users with a host of information about the venue and local area, including transport options, venue plans and an interactive local map showing restaurants, hotels, cafes and other local services.
However, the app’s most innovative feature is its ‘My Event’ tab, which enables organisers to tailor the app to their specific event, offering event schedules, exhibition plans, special offers, advertising opportunities, and a unique, closed social media platform for communication between organisers and delegates during their event.

The app can be further customised by organisers who wish to harness its commercial potential, and offers a bespoke content management system, responsive to changes in event schedules and content."

Local Map: An interactive guide to local restaurants, cafes, pubs, transport, cash machines, hotels, shops, tourist attractions, parking and other important services.
My Event: Tailored to each event, this section offers schedules, speaker biographies, special offers, exhibition plans and closed social media comment feeds. This tab offers organisers a suite of tools to support events and create revenue opportunities with sponsored content to enhance the delegate experience.
Launched to the App Store in November 2011, the app is currently being tested on client events. You can download the app by searching for ‘The CCD’ in the App Store.
