Dermod_Dwyer

Executive Chairman - Dermod Dwyer

A graduate of Harvard University, Dermod’s career has spanned a wide range of activities at the nexus of the public and private sectors in Ireland and internationally. On behalf of his client Treasury Holdings, Dermod has focused on successfully leading the team in winning, designing and delivering two of the largest tourism projects in Ireland, namely: The Convention Centre Dublin and The Ritz-Carlton, Powerscourt. Having effectively shepherded the complex pre-opening phases, he now oversees the launch and post-opening operation of The CCD encompassing all aspects of management and external stakeholder relationships.


Nick Waight

Chief Executive - Nick Waight

Nick was named Chief Executive of The Convention Centre Dublin following the appointment of The NEC Group to provide management consultancy services to The CCD. With more than 21 years experience in the conference and events industry, Nick has been fortunate to work at The ICC Birmingham, which is recognized as the UK’s leading convention centre and one of the best in Europe. Nick has been involved with The CCD project for more than 10 years and has been pivotal in the mobilisation and design of the convention centre.

Allan Boyle

Hospitality & Events Director - Allan Boyle

Allan has over 25 years experience in the catering industry, working his way up from the kitchens at Glasgow’s Hospitality Inn, to his most recent position as General Manager of Catering at The ICC Birmingham. In his role at The CCD, Allan and his team will approach the operation from a service and customer perspective to focus on the delegate experience. This attention to detail will help The CCD deliver a truly unique experience.


Austin McCormack

Facilities Director - Austin McCormack

Austin joined The CCD in December 2008, with over 25 years experience in the area of Property and Facilities Management mainly in the Professional Services and Technology sectors. Previously, he worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) where he was responsible for project-managing the move of 2,000 employees over a single weekend. Austin has been one of the primary links with the builder and design team to ensure the building is completed in line with the specification and that key targets and milestones are achieved. Following the construction phase, Austin will be responsible for managing the services and facilities for the entire building.


Killian Carroll

Finance Director - Killian Carroll

Killian joined The CCD team in January 2009. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, he previously worked with the Heiton Group (now part of Grafton Group plc.) for 7 years and more recently served as Finance Director of a privately owned retail group. Killian is responsible for Finance and Reporting at The CCD and also oversees the Human Resources, Legal and IT strategy functions.


Jillian

Head of Events - Jillian Wilson

Jillian joined The CCD team in June 2009 and was promoted to the position of Head of Events in November 2009. Jillian most recently served as Head of Events and Operations with St. George’s Bristol, a concert hall with a year-round programme of classical, world, folk and jazz events. A Law graduate of Trinity College Dublin, Jillian is tasked with managing all of the operational and logistical elements – from the planning process to delivery - for the many conferences and events taking place at The CCD.

Eimear Herron

HR Manager - Eimear Herron

Eimear joined The CCD in August 2009. Prior to this, she served as Human Resource Manager - Ireland at Treasury Holdings. A Law graduate of University College Dublin, she has previously held HR positions with C&C Group plc and IBM. In her role at The CCD, she is focused on building a skilled and experienced team and establishing the HR strategy.


Elaine Phillips

Head of Marketing & Communications - Elaine Phillips

Elaine joined the team in 2008 and was promoted to Marketing Manager in 2009. Prior to her appointment at The CCD, Elaine gained over 12 years marketing experience, primarily in a range of marketing management roles within Insurance Group, Aviva, and, subsequently, as a marketing consultant. Elaine is responsible for delivering an integrated marketing and communications plan across all key markets managing the brand identity, digital marketing development, advertising and all promotional activity.


Marie Lawlor

Head of Conference Sales - Marie Lawlor

Marie joined the team in 2008 as one of the company's first employees. Marie gained extensive experience in managing events and conferences during her previous roles with MCI Dublin and The Royal Town Planning Institute. Marie joined as Senior Account Manager - Sales and was promoted to Account Director in 2010. She is responsible for managing the sales team and driving sales by targeting and securing Local, International and European Association Conferences and Corporate Events for The CCD.


Majella McDonnell

Health and Safety Manager - Majella McDonnell

Majella joined The CCD in February 2010 having worked as a Health and Safety Consultant for over 5 years. She has previously worked in a variety of industries including events, hospitality, construction and manufacturing. Majella has completed a BA in International Insurance and European Studies and holds a Masters in Environmental Health Risk Management. She is responsible for Health and Safety at The CCD and is focused on preparing and implementing a robust Occupational Health and Safety Management System throughout the business. Majella is also responsible for the design, preparation, implementation and accreditation of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System. 


Gareth Neville - Cropped

Head of Technical - Gareth Neville

Gareth, who joined The CCD as Technical Production Manager at the start of this year, has over 20 years’ experience in the events & entertainment industry. Having previously worked as Production Manager for venues such as The Round Room at the Mansion House, The Event Centre in Punchestown and the chq Building in the IFSC, he has also worked on a wide range of events from car launches and outdoor festivals to rock concerts and fashion shows and everything in between. Gareth has also worked extensively in live television on shows such as The Late Late Show, Kenny Live and The Eurovision Song Contest.
