Nightlife
Fun for all, late into the night
Dubliners certainly know how to enjoy themselves deep into the night as the city offers something for everyone. Visitors can experience the warm Irish welcome while having a sing-song with a pint of Guinness in traditional pubs such as O’Donoghue’s on Merrion Row or Gogarty’s on Fleet Street. For a taste of history, don’t forget Dublin’s oldest pub, The Brazen Head, reputed to date from the year 1198. Live music is also very popular and the best local and international live music acts appear regularly at Vicar Street, the Sugar Club, Whelan’s, Button Factory, The National Concert Hall, The O2, The Olympia, The Gaiety Theatre and The Ambassador.
For clubbers, many of Dublin’s nightclubs are based on the Leeson Street strip. Other clubbing venues include The Academy, Renards, Ri-Ra, Tripod, Dandelion, Spy and Lillie’s Bordello, which all stay open late. For those looking for something uniquely Irish, why not visit a céilí dance or catch some traditional Irish music at a local session and experience the “Craic” you’ve probably heard all about!
