The Convention Centre Dublin to host IATA’s World Passenger Symposium 2013

Dublin - 4 January, 2013 – The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is bringing its World Passenger Symposium to The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) as part of The Gathering Ireland in October 2013.

The organisers decided to host their 2013 symposium at The CCD having considered an alternative proposal from Barcelona, Spain. The decision was welcomed by Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Leo Varadkar, “Fáilte Ireland has been working hard to promote Ireland as a conference venue… and this sends out a clear message that Ireland is a good place for international organisations to do business.”

As the trade association for 84% of the world’s airlines, the IATA’s annual World Passenger Symposium is a chance for senior aviation figures to get together and formalize industry positions and public policy issues. It also provides a focus for emerging industry issues, as well as providing access to first hand intelligence on new technologies and processes.

Previous IATA Symposium’s have been held in Singapore and Abu Dhabi, attracting over 500 world-wide delegates. More than 700 representatives from IATA member airlines, industry partners, manufacturers, suppliers, international and regional associations, and members of the government are expected to attend the 5 day event at The CCD in October 2013.
