The CCD Secures the International Craft Brewing and Distilling Convention 2013

DUBLIN – 10 June 2013 - The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) has been chosen to host The Alltech International Craft Brewing and Distilling Convention from 17-20 July 2013. 1,500 international experts and brewing enthusiasts are expected to attend the four day event.

Alltech is owned by Irish native Dr. Pearse Lyons, and has European Headquarters in Dunboyne, Ireland. Primarily known for the development of innovative animal feed in Ireland, Alltech’s US headquarters in Kentucky, is also one of America’s most celebrated whiskey and bourbon breweries. Its award-winning beers and spirits are available in 14 US states and three countries, and is one of a few sites in the world to house both brewing and distilling in one location.

In advance of setting up a new distillery facility in Ireland, Alltech have brought its prestigious international craft brewing and distilling summit to Ireland for the first time as part of The Gathering, the company comments, “The Gathering is a fantastic opportunity for Alltech and Dr. Lyons to further his commitment to highlight Ireland’s enormous potential”.

The four day event will offer a series of in-depth technical workshops covering laboratory skills and techniques, and advice on how to distinguish your brand in a rapidly growing market space. It will also incorporate the Alltech Brewing and Distilling Academy, the Beer and Spirits Competition, and the Brewing and Distilling Expo, which will showcase a huge range of industry suppliers all in one location. The July event will also feature sessions on International Food Pairing, where experts will explain the science behind food pairings, and leading chefs will prepare food incorporating craft brews and spirits.
