The Convention Centre Dublin ‘Make It Yours’ Campaign captures the imagination of Conference Organisers

DUBLIN – 28 January, 2014 – The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) has received hundreds of entries so far to its interactive ‘Make It Yours’ campaign, which closes this Friday 31st January.

Launched in November 2013, the campaign was the brainchild of Head of Marketing & Communications, Elaine Phillips, who wanted to tap into the unique advantage The CCD has as flexible and iconic building on the Dublin Skyline. “Many of our clients have customised The CCD, lighting up the atrium ring beams in their brand colours, with some projecting video onto the façade to publicise their event”, said Phillips. “Our concept was to develop an interactive tool that would allow users to replicate this idea, as a fun way of entering a great competition”.

The CCD Marketing team enlisted their website developers Strata 3 to build the online tool and designers Principle to brand the campaign. It was promoted on a range of digital marketing platforms, including UK and European trade publication websites, social media (#MakeItYours), and by e-shot to a large target audience of international meetings organisers. Response rates have exceeded expectations, with entries from all over Europe and beyond.

“We hoped to promote positive brand engagement whilst giving entrants the opportunity to win their choice of one of three great prizes”, said Nick Waight, CEO of The CCD. “We are delighted with the level of interaction and the very creative artwork submitted. The campaign has ticked all the right boxes and will give us invaluable metrics as we develop our digital marketing activity further in 2014.”

Entries include the heart-warming ‘Meetings Made in Heaven’ from existing CCD Client, Radiodays Europe, the funky ‘Networks Maker’ from an Italian Professor, ‘Incantato’ from Marina in Brazil, ‘La Vie en Vert’ from Anne-Flore in France, ‘Mardi Gras’ from Caroline in Glasgow, ‘Xplooooide’ from Stefan in Austria and ‘Dutch Delight’ from Ingeborg in Holland.

The competition runs for three more days on The CCD website www.theccd.ie/makeityours offering three exclusive prizes, including ‘Ultimate Dining in Dublin’, a ‘Luxurious Weekend in Wicklow’ or an ‘Online Shopping Spree with top Irish retail brands.

Since opening, The CCD has hosted over 875 events and over 850,000 delegate days. Past corporate events who have branded The CCD include Emirates’ World Gala Dinner to launch the Dublin to Dubai route, and Iceland’s ‘Light up the High Street’ Management Conference and Banquet.
