The Convention Centre Dublin to Host SMACC 2016

DUBLIN – 21 July 2015 – The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) is set to host the Social Media and Critical Care (SMACC) Conference in June 2016 in conjunction with The Association Specialists. The conference is expected to attract around 2,000 delegates from around the world.

Dublin 2016 will be the fourth SMACC conference with Sydney and Chicago hosting previous meetings. Lucy Timms, Team Manager, Events at The Association Specialists commented, "Given the overwhelming response to SMACC and the growth in its international popularity, the move to Europe in June 2016 has been delegate-demand driven. The choice of Dublin as the host city was facilitated by it being a popular destination for travellers, a transport hub for both the USA and Europe, having a state-of-the-art convention centre and the strong connections from the Critical Care website community based locally in Ireland and the UK."

SMACC is an academic meeting combined with online social media to deliver innovation with education. The program addresses important clinical issues delivered by key academic speakers while also bringing this traditional format into the 21st century with live twitter feeds, podcasts, vodcasts, live streaming and digital e-poster displays.

SMACC brings together critical care practitioners (Emergency Physicians / Intensivists / Anaesthetists / Rural and Pre-Hospital Specialists / Critical Care Nurses and Paramedics) and the biggest names in online medical blogs and websites from all over the world.
