DUBLIN - September 7, 2011 - The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) announced today that it is celebrating its first year in business. To date, The CCD has hosted over 300 events and welcomed 170,000 visitors who have attended a variety of events, which have helped to boost the local economy.

Our customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive with special praise given to our attention to detail, our committed team and our friendly Irish atmosphere. Our goal is to be the best conference centre in Europe by 2014 and I’m delighted to share that we are well on our way to reaching this target.”

Events hosted at The CCD to date include the 39th European Dialysis & Transplant Nurses Association Conference, European Union of Geriatric Medicine Society Conference (EUGMS), UK Fertilities Conference 2011, European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation Conference, Globe Forum 2010, Project Management Institute EMEA Global Congress, TM Forum - Management World Conference, International Statistical Institute Conference, Google EMEA Sales Conference, Alcatel-Lucent event, IBM conference, British Embassy Return Event on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II, X-Factor Live Auditions, American Chamber of Commerce 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner and David Gray in concert.

The CCD has a full schedule of events for the remainder of 2011 including the European Society of Biomaterials Conference, British Orthopaedic Association Conference,  European Society for Clinical Cell Analysis (ESCCA) 2011, European Seating Symposium, 9/11 Ireland Remembers Concert, Instruments of Peace – an international Peace Conference, The Nutcracker, Taste of Christmas and Glen Campbell.
