The Convention Centre Dublin Celebrated its 500th Event

DUBLIN – May 24, 2012 – The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) celebrated its 500th event this week with the international conference TM Forum Management World. Since its opening in September 2010, The CCD has hosted over 240,000 delegate days at a range of events, including international conferences, corporate meetings, banquets, exhibitions, award ceremonies and entertainment.

To date, the venue has received 11 industry awards including ‘Best Overseas Conference Centre’ and ‘Access Excellence’ at the Meetings and Incentive Travel Industry Awards 2012. In November 2011, the venue secured International Organization of Standardization (ISO) 9001 – Quality Management System and ISO 14001 - Environmental Management System certification.

Events hosted at The CCD to date include the European Union of Geriatric Medicine Society Conference (EUGMS), UK Fertilities Conference, European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation Conference, Globe Forum 2010, Project Management Institute EMEA Global Congress, EuroPRevent Conference, , International Statistical Institute Conference, Google EMEA Sales Conference, Alcatel-Lucent event, IBM conference, British Orthopaedic Association Conference, European Society forClinical Cell Analysis (ESCCA) 2011, European Seating Symposium, International Water Association (IWA) World Congress, British Embassy ‘Return Event’ on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II, Fine Gael Ard Fheis, X-Factor Live Auditions, Taste of Christmas, The Nutcracker, American Chamber of Commerce 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner and David Gray in concert.

The CCD has also secured a host of events right up until 2015, including the 16th International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease & Movement Disorders, Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution, International Congress on Accident & Emergency Medicine, World Molecular Imaging Congress (WMIC), International Bar Association, European Society of Coloproctology, and Euroscience 2012, which will be the venue’s largest event so far, with 5,000 international delegates expected to attend.
