Destination Dublin
Welcome to Dublin, the city that knows how to relax, entertain and enjoy the ‘craic’ (having a good time), with emphasis on laughter, fun and song…
Wherever you go in Dublin, whether it be a pub, club, or restaurant, you’ll find it impossible not to get caught up in the excitement of this historic city.
Many of the world’s leading hotel brands have been attracted to Dublin such as The Westin (www.thewestindublin.com), Four Seasons, Marriott, Conrad Hilton, Ritz-Carlton, Radisson SAS and Clarion.
With over 17,000 bedrooms in the city, the extensive choice ranges from 5-star and boutique hotels to mid-price hotels and friendly bed & breakfasts, many of which are within walking distance of our venue.
Dublin has hundreds of cafes and restaurants spanning every style of cuisine, from traditional Irish to the finest international cooking. In terms of culinary diversity, value for money and atmosphere, Dublin’s restaurants cater for every palate and every budget.
The city boasts several Michelin starred restaurants, and now attracts more and more top chefs, such as Gordon Ramsay who opened his first restaurant in Ireland at The Ritz-Carlton Powerscourt.
Dublin is renowned for its nightlife, this is after all the city of Oscar Wilde, Sean O’Casey and the legendary Abbey Theatre; it’s also the city that produced U2, Boyzone and Riverdance.
Pubs, clubs, cafes, bars, restaurants, theatres, comedy and concert venues are bustling every night of the week. We recommend the traditional ‘singing pubs’ where locals and visitors alike come to enjoy the music, accompanied no doubt by a creamy pint - or two - of Guinness.
Historic buildings can be found on every street, so keep your eyes open for Dublin Castle, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, National Gallery, Trinity College, Christ Church Cathedral, the National Museum and many more. There’s one place no visitor should miss - the Guinness Storehouse, home of the traditional pint of Guinness.
Steeped in history, Dublin’s Art galleries, museums and architectural gems surround you, giving an insight into the city’s rich and colourful heritage.
Step outside Dublin and you’ll discover a whole other country. Ireland is now one of the world’s favourite destinations – a land of green fields, tiny villages, castles, mountains, lakes, breathtaking scenery, unspoilt beaches, and a relaxed friendly welcome wherever you go. Take a trip to Wicklow, the ‘garden of Ireland’ and visit historic Glendalough, site of one of the earliest monastic settlements. Or enjoy a day at the races at Fairyhouse, the venue for Ireland’s Grand National.
If golf’s your game, you’ll be spoilt for choice: Ireland has some of the best championship golf courses in Europe, including Druids Glen which has hosted the Irish Open four times and is often referred to as "The Augusta of Europe" and the renowned ‘K Club’ in Kildare, home to the 2006 Ryder Cup.
Further afield, Galway on the west coast is a lively city surrounded by the untamed landscape of Connemara. And to the south, Cork and Kerry offer both spectacular scenery and some of the best restaurants in Ireland. Venture north and enjoy the scenery of counties Antrim, Down and Derry. The Giant’s Causeway, a natural formation of basalt columns, is a major visitor attraction in north Antrim. Did nature create them or are they the footsteps of a Giant? Nobody really knows.
